Missoula Children’s Theatre
Kids’ Niche students enjoyed a backstage tour of the Missoula Children's Theatre, where they explored costumes, stage sets, and the inner workings of the theater.
Missoula Food Bank
CFS Staff volunteered at the Missoula Food Bank, assembling empower packs for local families as part of a staff development training day. This experience fostered teamwork, efficiency, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Missoula PaddleHeads
CFS recently partnered with the Missoula PaddleHeads baseball team for their Non-Proft Tuesday campaign. CFS staff and families had the pleasure of attending the game, networking with other local non-profits, and strengthening connections through community involvement - and got to enjoy some baseball too!
Wild Skies Raptor Center
Students had an engaging visit from the Wild Skies Raptor Center, learning about bird conservation and rehabilitation while getting a unique opportunity to observe live raptors and owls up close!
Animal Wonders
Animal Wonders is dedicated to showcasing the marvels of wildlife to the community, having rescued over 30 animals that now find a safe haven in their sanctuary near Missoula. During a visit to CFS, our students had the opportunity to meet some of these incredible creatures, including a tortoise, a snake, and an armadillo!
Planetarium
Constellations, Black Holes, and Planets - Oh my!
We love sauntering to the UM Planetarium! Our group of future astronomers enjoy learning all about the sun, stars, planets, black holes, and everything that makes up our galaxy and the galaxies around us. This is such a unique and engaging experience that is always a inter-”stellar”!
Empower Place
“EmPower Place is a hands-on family learning center located at Missoula Food Bank & Community Center and is a collaborative effort by spectrUM Discovery Area, Missoula Food Bank & Community Center and Missoula Public Library. Dedicated to nourishing the bodies and minds of local children and families, it is one part community center, one part science museum, one part food hub, and one part library.” Empower is one of our favorite places to Saunter! The space is bright, engaging, and also teaches our students the importance of being good stewards and helping out within our local community!
Grow Music
Clark Fork School students are treated to regular visits from Anna, a talented music teacher from Grow Music, who brings music classes to life. During her sessions at CFS, Anna introduces the kids to various instruments, teaches them about rhythm, and gets them moving with fun dances!
SpectrUM Discovery Area and Missoula Public Library
We love visiting the SpectrUM Discovery Center at the Missoula Public Library! It's a wonderful destination for kids and parents alike, offering engaging exhibits in science, math, history, reading, and more! This saunter is always a favorite!

Montana Natural History Center
The Sparrows Class recently sauntered to the Montana Natural History Center. The class was enthralled by Montana's rich natural history, landscape, and wildlife. The highlight of the visit was undoubtedly the T-rex skull! Each exhibit offered new insights that deepened their appreciation for the region's ecology.
Animeals
The Kids' Niche program recently held a pet food and supply drive. After a generous wave of donations, the class excitedly sauntered to Animeals, where they were able to drop off the supplies and met the cats in the shelter. We want to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who donated!
University Of Montana
The University of Montana visit was an inspiring experience for students and staff. Students toured campus buildings, learned about the university's history from a student guide, and explored the athletic facilities. They even got to a game of football at Washington Grizzly Stadium! Go Griz!
Butterfly House and Insectarium
CFS utilizes public transportation, providing easy access for our students to explore and learn in the greater Missoula Community. A popular destination is the nearby Butterfly House and Insectarium, where students always enjoy interactive exhibits, holding unique insects, and identifying butterflies.
