The introduction of sit spots has shifted the way we view our playground. We now view it as a natural space where animals and nature treasures are there for our discovery. Our ears are listening more for birds and our eyes are hunting for signs of animal visitors. We've already discovered the paint prints and cement tracks that line our walk ways and are talking about ways to identify who left them. The deer are helping us by visiting our playground to nibble on our trees. They are leaving very distinctive prints in our frozen snow. We've been following their path to see where they went and how they got in and out! We've also been looking at the deer tracks in the snow and the elk tracks on the sidewalk to think about how they are the same and how they are different.

Thursday and Friday we sauntered to Tom Green trail. Along the way we noticed a Mountain Ash tree that is still covered in berries!. It must be the birds' favorite tree! Once at the park, we played on the playground and on the snow plow mountains nearby. We went two-by-two onto the Tom Green trail with our cameras. The kids took some amazing pictures. Here's a teaser from Bella, Silas, and Haislea.
