Matthew Nord, Missoula's local music teacher visits the Little Pumpkins

The Little Pumpkins had the most WONDERFUL gift of music from Matt Nord!  The Little Pumpkins were fully engaged in a whole 45 minute music and movement lesson! Matthew Nord amazed and delighted us with his intuitive talents with music and young children.  Not only did we have the opportunity to play a tongue drum, we moved our bodies to a djembe, guitar, rhythm sticks and shakers.  We engaged in a variety of songs like Monkey and the Alligator, Tiny Tim (a storybook/song version)Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, Good Day Now, and Shake your Sillies Out(with shakers) and many more!  Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes was performed with each Little Pumpkin having their own set of rhythm sticks.  Not only did we tap those sticks, we explored rubbing them softly and rolling them.  We even used the sticks as windows in a variation of the traditional, Wheels on the Bus song.  Matt Nord is by far the most amazing individual to work with a group of children in the muscial setting in Missoula!  He teaches a variety of music classes to both children and adults, as well as individual lessons.         ***Please take the time to check him out on his website  www.tangledtones.com.

Melanie Rosenthal, Sophia's mom teaches YOGA to the Little Pumpkins

Melanie has been teaching the Little Pumpkins yoga on the past couple of Tuesdays.  So far, we've been getting used to the idea of yoga, learned some new poses, and had fun while enjoying the yoga practice.  We've manipulated, moved and put our bodies into a variety of positions like frogs, pretzel legs, balloons, rocketships, kites, flowers, clouds, and babies.  We practiced the familar pose, down dog and enjoyed the playfulness of 'painting the sky.'                                         We look forward to more visits and opportuntities to practice yoga with Melanie.  Thanks Melanie!!
