Clark Fork School is Missoula's natural alternative for early childhood education. Our progressive, parent-guided co-op offers small classes, a nature-based curriculum, structured academics taught by exceptional educators, and a commitment to each child's social and emotional development.
In September, 2016, Clark Fork School earned Montana's first Green Flag award through the National Wildlife Federation's Eco-Schools' Program. This prestigious award recognizes the ways we have incorporated sustainability into our school culture and curriculum. We're proud to be only 1 of 12 Green Flag recipients in the nation!
Here at Clark Fork School, sustainability and environmental education is incorporated into our way of life. Connecting to the natural world is an integral part of our drive and using the Eco-Schools' curriculum helps our students connect to the world around them. Some of our biggest Green Flag accomplishments are building the Garden Learning Center and Certified Wildlife Habitat (it used to be a gravel lot!), implementing a No-Idling Policy, starting our staff Sustainable Transportation Encouragement Program, and turning our playground into a more-natural playscape. We are so proud to be a model of sustainability in the Missoula community!
